Mountain Home Gift Ideas crafted by Women Entrepreneurs

No matter the time of year we have some wonderful ideas for gift-giving that will help bring a mountain home to life

by Holly GoSpritely

Gift Giving for our friends and family can be difficult no matter what time of year it is. There are some people who have the knack and know how to find that perfect present but to be honest with you this woman behind the keyboard finds gift giving difficult.

I have the opportunity to discover some fantastic women-owned businesses as well as products that make sense for all of us who enjoy life in the mountains. So here is Mountain Women Magazine’s list of gift suggestions for your home compiled from the past year of discovery.

~ For Our Homes ~

Hooey Mountain

Hooey Mountain produces some of the most unique photography of Vintage Toy Skiers that are no bigger than your thumb. We love this Downhill Divas image along with so many other creative pictures she has crafted around the world. All images are taken on-site and not photoshopped to appear on location.  You must click this link to see them all because each image is a work of art and a very worthy gift to any skier on your list! www.hooeymountain.com

Tina Leix Wreaths

Tina Leix of Grand County, Colorado has always had a love for wreaths. To her, they’re not just for the holidays, but always had trouble finding one that’s well made, with special touches. After the loss of her mother and having two small child children she was inspired to begin designing her own products and leave the corporate life behind. Tina’s Wreath and Home Co. everyday & seasonal wreaths are crafted from her home workspace. All wreath features are faux and/or preserved to last many seasons with proper care. Choose from 38 different designs or work directly with her to bring your vision to life www.tinaleixwreathco.com

Ten Mile Blankets

Ten Mile Blankets are custom-made pieces, designed and crafted by Norma Fierman in her home at the base of Mount Royal in Frisco, Colorado. Her designs are inspired by traditional Amish patterns, which I have always admired for being both traditional and modern at the same time. Ten Mile Blankets are made from two layers of 100% recycled USA-made Polartec 200 weight fleece. They are super soft, cushy and machine washable. We have loved using them during the pandemic to sit outside around a fire, at a restaurant as well as snuggle up while binging on shows. Check out these quality blankets at www.tenmileblankets.com

Pet Portraits – Art by Agostina

We love our furry children and discovered this lovely Vail artist’s irresistible artwork at the Dillon Farmers Market.  Whether you’re honoring your current pet, loss of a pet, or looking for a unique gift for your friends and family, you’re going to love her beautiful pet portraits. Agostina can capture your dog, cat, bird, and any other pet that speaks to your heart through her highly detailed drawings using a stippling technique. www.artbyagostina.com
