VNTR Birds

VNTRbirds (ven-ture) women’s outdoor education and adventure company in Breckenridge, CO mission is to get more women into the outdoors with proper knowledge and confidence to then be self-sufficient long after taking our courses or workshops. We also host free ride days to grow the community and help women find new friends and a lot of the time BEST FRIENDS. This summer VNTRbirds has a stacked calendar of MTB clinics and maintenance workshops. For more information:

June 6th – Babes on Bikes: free women’s meetup, Keystone/ Silverthorne, we give out prizes for photo contest

June 13th – Pushing Pedals Beginner MTB Clinic: Buena Vista, each participant receives stacked goody bags (8-10 participants)

June 14th – Pushing Pedals Intermediate MTB Clinic: Buena Vista, each participant receives stacked goody bags (8-10 participants)

June 27th – Revolution Enduro Tour : Eagle, free meetup & raffle for scholarship fund to keep courses affordable and therefore more inclusive

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced courses available for sign up, camping out around the fire, scavenger hunts, relay races, maintenance workshops, group rides and more! Goody bags for course participants and so many prizes for everyone else to win.

2021 West Virginia Wild Weekend with Explorer Chick

Explorer Chick Adventure Co. is hosting their 5th Annual West Virginia Wild Weekend, an inspiring getaway dedicated to that inner “wild” residing in all women, on June 17-20, 2021. 

Thursday: Check-ins, camp setup, Explorer Chick Wild Welcome Dinner.


  • FREE DAY! You have the option of adding Half Day and Full Day guided adventures; including rock climbing, kayaking, SUP, boating, caving, and ziplining.
  • By nightfall, clink glasses of wine and share a meal while listening to the inspiring Khadijah Diggs and guest speakers.

Past speakers include: Stacy Kozel, Sophia Danenberg, and Heather “Anish” Anderson.


  • RAFT DAY. You and your fellow Explorer Chicks will spend the day mastering STAGE 5 RAPIDS on the Lower New River.
  • Enjoy a final meal Saturday evening with the finest entertainment on earth – a whitewater rafting video, STARRING YOU.

Sunday: Departure day. Pack up camp, share hugs, and aggressively follow one another on social media.

 All weekend:

  • You’ll have full access to the Wonderland Water Park on the camping property, WHICH INCLUDES A BLOB.
  • Each night will close with a roaring campfire, complete with s’mores, box wine, and sisterly shares.

River Development School

SheJumps and Orvis present the River Development School (RDS). RDS provides an overview on ‘Purpose & Planning’, ‘Waterway Identification + Management’, and ‘Building Your Process’ to expand your fly fishing skills. From novices to seasoned fly fishers, the RDS is an opportunity to build a skill set or refresh knowledge that will help you be self-sufficient. The ADS curriculum has been created in partnership with expert guides: @outsidehilary and @whitlange. Learn more:

June 15 | River Development School | Purpose & Planning

  • The evening course will help anglers be present in their personal fly fishing journey and identify key preparation elements for a variety of fly fishing conditions.

June 16 | River Development School | Waterway Identification + Management

  • The evening course will improve anglers’ skills in reading water, accessing water, and prioritizing conservation/stewardship.

June 17 | River Development School | Building Your Process

  • The evening course will guide anglers in identifying goals while balancing risk, adventure, and specific skill progression.

Honey Stinger Emerald Mountain Epic

The Honey Stinger Emerald Mountain Epic will return to in-person racing, August 7th & 8th, 2021 so prepare for a return of the burn with your friends! The Honey Stinger Emerald Mountain Epic mountain bike and trail running races experienced a pandemic shut down last summer but returns to in-person racing in 2021 with overwhelming interest. And for many, the transition from skis & snowshoes to bikes & running treads has already begun.

O2 Outdoor Women’s Festival

The O2 Outdoor Women’s Festival will be held September 16-19, 2021, in Carbondale, Colorado. It will be a four-day, intimate event of 250 women who will gather in a safe and inclusive space that will foster education and comfort in the outdoors. 

Attendees are invited to attend an opening wine reception and closing ceremony with a guided meditation and closing keynote by Alison Hadden of No Time to Waste. They can choose between four speaker sessions and four outdoor educational clinic sessions, such as “Avalanche and Snow Safety,” “Backpacking Tips and Techniques,” “Fly Fishing,” and “Bike Tech 101.” Light: A Documentary, a film about eating disorders in the climbing community, will be shown during the festival and be followed by a conversation with the filmmakers and the featured athletes. And throughout the event, attendees can join group runs, biking experiences, and yoga sessions through local partners.
