Before we started up Mountain Women Magazine we honored many Women in Colorado’s mountain town communities with the distinguished “Women Who Rock the Rockies” title. Our partner, Mountain Town Magazine, produced that Women specific issue for 5 Years until we decided the title needed its own home with the creation of Mountain Women Magazine.

One of our honorees, Billie Keithley, just recently received an Icons of Whisky Award from Whisky Magazine, an award to celebrate the Whisky industry’s best and brightest people, places and products. The Whiskey industry has traditionally been a male dominated industry and we love how Billie has stepped into the scene with a Passion and Drive for excellence.

I can still remember vividly heading to Denver and as I drove over I-25 on 6th Avenue West I saw her image spread across a huge billboard touting the Breckenridge Distillery, and I thought, that Woman is a badass! Meet Billie Keithley, the Liquid Chef whose remarkable concoctions compliment the award-winning distilled spirits of the Breckenridge Distillery. Although she has achieved near Rockstar status, her approachable demeanor and incredible passion for the craft boldly shines.
